This is Lake Waihola which is located in South Otago in Waihola - about 30 minutes drive south of Dunedin. I rather like what they’ve done for the kids here! What a great way to get some water fun - this is typical ‘kiwi ingenuity” at work!

Kakapoint Beach, South Otago

I’m not in Christchurch at the moment, but down in South Otago, about 5.5 hours drive south of Christchurch. This is the beach at Kakapoint which is coastal South Otago / Catlins. The Catlins as this area is called, is wind-swept, wild, and incredibly beautiful. As a child, I used to nag my mother to drive me to the beach so I could jump in the waves. I’m still a bit of a water fan, but it is Autumn now, and I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to being cold.
