Christchurch lies on the Canterbury Plains with views of the Southern Alps mountain range. The city has hill suburbs nestled in what are called the 'Port Hills'. Christchurch is well known for its many parks and gardens, including Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens.
Snapped on a rainy day on the Rapaki Track. That’s a rather impressive amount of fleece on this sheep. I also have to wonder if it’s about to drop some lambs? If so, it would be a bit late in the season.
I’m guessing there’d be enough for a couple of jerseys

I am looking for a sheep photo to put on the cover of my E book. Are your sheep photos for sale to be used this way or can I get permission to use one?

Nice sheep, not sure what breed they are. Not that I am any kind of expert, but if I see anyone with their sheep I always have a chat about them. I was chatting to a guy who has some Ryeland sheep the other day and by chance I knew them because my mate photographed some at the and I used them on my Leeds DP as guest pics. The farmer I spoke with said the way the market is he would get 50 pence per fleece so he burnt them on principle.

Cute photo! I wonder how much wool could be cut to make yarn from that one sheep?!
