Bright Lights Vigil

Sorry, no photo today, but a plug for an event I feel very strongly about. Very good friends of mine are organising the Bright Lights vigil next Friday evening. It is a vigil to light up the Square and remember the people who have lost their lives because of the senseless decisions made by drivers fleeing from the police.
Please come along and show your support. This is a totally non-political event – there is no agenda, just two local women have decided they have had enough of the carnage on the roads due to the thoughtless and reckless actions of a few. So if you feel strongly about this too, please let everyone know in your network of friends and family know, and bring along a safe light to make the square shine (glow stick, light sabre or torch…).
If you want to put up a flyer at your workplace, please download the PDF and print it out. Bright Lights Poster PDF
See you there.

There I was thinking that NZ was not like here in the UK, that somehow and I was talking about this a week or so back (a good friends daughter and family now live in NZ and have done for longer than I thought, the eldest daughter starts Uni shortly) I had this impression that NZ was like small town England, but with less crime and yobs.
What else are these blogs about but to promote the good and the things we care about.

I’m fine thanks! It was quite a shake and there is a lot of building damage in the central city. Will have photos posted soon ofthe damage. I am on the hill suburbs and I think we felt it less. Been awake since 4.30am!
