Mt Oxford

Got out of Christchurch for the afternoon with a drive north to Oxford (a small rural town about 50km North West of Christchurch). It’s a lovely spot, and I had to jump out of the car and take a picture of the mountains looking misty.

Beautiful shot!!!
Beautiful scenery and high peaks too. I had to look up Mt Oxford, it is a little higher than Ben Nevis in our own highlands, but interestingly or more likely tellingly does not rate a Wikipedia entry. I guess because there are many more peaks in your part of NZ?
