And a little spaniel waits
So cute! Snapped outside of a cafe in Lyttelton waiting for his/her owner to finish having lunch. He/she was quite focused on the door of the cafe and was not that interested in posing for me, but I finally got a half decent shot of him/her. I had a cocker spaniel as a child so have a soft spot for them, but they can be quite silly dogs and are exceptionally devoted to their owners and will really pine if separated from them.

Very cute and patient, loyal too. I like spaniels, they are almost always out for fun and are in my experience never snappy
Have only just spotted this! This is Daisy. Follows all traits described above – a bit silly, and very loyal
I still miss my cocker spaniel – he was my childhood companion from 5 to 18! And very silly and very loyal. Is Daisy your dog Karen?
Hi Michelle – she sure is! I inherited her when she was about 5. Lovely dog and really great with kids – not so keen on little white dogs (of any breed) though, especially when she’s on her lead. I’m quite sure she’d rather be IN the cafe than having to rough it outside.
Karen, if she was anything like my cocker spaniel, then she’d definitely expect that she should be in the cafe with you, and not just under the table like other lesser dogs – but sitting up on a chair at the table with you. That’s what my spaniel used to do (he was very indulged). He fully expected to eat at the table with the rest of us – jumping up on the chairs. I half expected to see a plate for him there some days!
