Seagull Standoff
I had a stand off with a seagull. I left bread and butter out for the sparrows and wax eyes but Mr Seagull (or Ms Seagull) thought that was too tasty a treat to not share. He’s checking me out to see if it’s safe to swoop in and get it.
Still wondering… hmm, should I risk it? In the end I gave in and threw the bread up to him.
And lastly, here are the many sparrows that turned up for a much needed carbohydrate fix!

Wow Michele I cannot remember when I saw that many sparrows in one place. When I was a boy there were lots, even in London and now I see a few here and a few there.
If I remember correctly, in the late 90′s or early 2000′s we did have a lot of sparrows die out from a bird flu in Christchurch. But the population certainly recovered as you can see! Or, perhaps every sparrow in Christchurch descended on my back yard!
These are great birds pics, the sparrows are just gorgeous!
