Cute Dog

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I’m a bit of a sucker for a cute little dog – so there are a few of them on this website.  This one was snapped at Le Cafe on Worcester Boulevard. There’s is an outside dining area that often has dogs sitting beside their owners, no doubt hoping for a few tasty morsels to drop their way.

Rainy Day Red

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Surprise! It rained again today… and I saw RED! I love red coats – in fact I was wearing one when I snapped the lady walking along Cashel Mall.

Rainy Day in Pink

Monday, May 24th, 2010

It’s been raining quite consistently today, and we are being warned there will be a lot more rain tomorrow.  In fact I think pretty much all of New Zealand is being inundated with rain at the moment.  These two shots are some of bright spots I found in the city – the flowers (cyclamen) are outside the Dusk store down Poplar Lane and the girl with the pink umbrella and bag was on the corner of Manchester and High street – and I thank her for being one of the few people with colourful umbrellas – black umbrellas are so boring to photograph!

Knight in shining armour

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Spotted at the antique store on Madras street and snapped through the windown standing on tippy toe. I kind of imagine the knight might sit down and write a letter at the table.

Shop Mannequins on Madras Street

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

For some time I’ve been thinking about photograhing mannequins – especially after being inspired by local photographer Tony Bridge’s mannequin shots.

It was not my intention to leave the house tonight and photograph mannequins – it just happend.  I often just park the car somewhere and wander fairly aimlessly, stopping whenever I get a moment of inspiration. The Mannequins have been photoshopped rather a lot (I’ve added a lens flare for dramatic effect!). I’ve so enjoyed playing around with these photos that I’m going to do more of it this week – so stand by for lots of uber photoshopped pics of Christchurch! My apologies in advance to the photo purists who loathe and despise photoshopping! – (you know who you are!).

Tui Mail

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Spotted this evening on an inner city street. Tui is a popular brand of beer in New Zealand.

Bang Bus

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Spotted driving down Durham Street.  All I am going to say is that the ‘mind boggles’. Am resisting all pathetic attempts at innuendo!

Window Sketch, Colombo Street

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

I was walking down Manchester street near Lichfield and noticed this window with a sketch of what looks to be Christchurch (stadium, mountains, cathedral). I caught the passing traffic in the reflection and the shadow top right is me!

Mrs Higgins Cookies – Resistance is Futile!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Yum! Mrs higgins oven fresh cookies are on Worcester street just down from the Regent cinema. The smell is divine. My friend (you can see her shadow in the pic) thinks they have a fan blowing out the aroma of cookies onto the street to entice passerbys.
