Halswell Primary School Murals at the Arts Centre

January 21, 2013

These wonderful murals are on the fence by the Arts Centre in the Market Square. They were created by pupils of Halswell Primary School. The murals feature scenes we all know and love of the Arts Centre and the surrounding city. Quite a few of them depict the Fudge cottage – so many do in fact, that I really had a craving for fudge after photographing them!

Decorations on the Arts Centre Turret

December 15, 2010

This turret is on the ground, as it was damaged in the earthquake and had to be removed from the top of the building. According to this article, the turret will stay on the ground for two years while its repaired at a cost of around 25 million. That’s one very expensive Christmas decoration :)

Snapped at the Arts Centre around lunch time today – a little dog quietly waits for any little tid bits that might drop his way.

Christchurch Arts Centre

If you come to Christchurch you must pay a visit to the Arts Centre. This was once the University of Canterbury Campus, but today it is home to lots of arts and craft stores, the markets, food stalls, a fudge cottage with the most divine fudge, and two art house cinemas.
