Baruch 9 years ago Nicely spotted – it looks like columnar-jointed basalt in the rockface Carolyn Collins 5 years ago Yes, there are three different types of rock, one above the other in that spot, the others are scoria and Halswell stone (have forgotten the technical name) but it breaks easily into big slabs so is great for making paths etc.
