Red Chairs on a Rainy Day at Woolston Bakery

red-chairs

I stopped in at the Woolston Bakery today for a bite to eat before doing a few errands. I can highly recommend the cream buns! And the mince pie I had was very tasty like what I remember from my childhood. I ended up leaving my purse in the cafe – and didn’t realise I’d done so until I went to pay for something at another store. My heart skipped a beat when I realised I had no purse in my hand bag. Sure enough, I’d left it at the bakery and they had it behind the counter. I was pretty relieved about that. It’s kind of ridiculous the amount of cards we all carry around with us now and I was dreading the thought of having to cancel them. I don’t know if someone handed in the purse or if one of the staff found it, but either way it’s nice to know there are honest people in the world still.

I’m Woolston born & raised now living in Sydney. Woolston has an honest heart. The Gateway to Sumner is where I’m from. Creamed buns, Sunday hot bread, fresh filled rolls & a variety of perfect pies is the Ferry Road way.

It will be interesting to see how Woolston changes in the next few years – especially with the plans for Ferry Road and the new shopping centre that will open soon on Garlands Road.

This has happened to me and people I know several times. Mayeb we’re a particularly scatty lot? But ’tis good to know that so many people are honest.

Alison, luckily for me I don’t do it very often at all. I think in this occasion I may have been too distracted by all the lovely baked goods, in particular my cream bun!
