Merry Christmas

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas day! This is the Pohutukawa flower which is also called the New Zealand Christmas tree. The Pohutukawa is predominately seen in the North Island of New Zealand (this photo was actually taken in Tawa in Wellington) though apparently the tree can also be spotted in the South Island.

Some lovely daisies at the botanic gardens. It was a wet weekend, but at 4pm Sunday the sun came out!
