This is Uri Weiss who with his wife Noa performs as ‘Cirque No Problem’. And he’s posing for me, after pointing at me and telling me to take the photo! That’s what can happen when you take a big camera down to these kind of shows! He and his wife are fantastic entertainers, not only can they perform rather impressive physical feats on a mobile trapeze, but they are funny, and fun, and are definitely my favourite act from the Buskers Festival! So I say Vote for Uri and Noa for the People’s Choice awards (text problem to 3444). I will be!

One of the acts from the Russian Bar group (they’re Canadian) – but the Juggler is German – go figure!!  He’s very entertaining, and the girl that does the Russian bar act with him is just amazing – and it’s truly scary to watch (no mat and she’s thrown very high into the air).

From the Busker’s festival…

This is one of the performers from Christchurch’s World Busker’s Festival which is on right now.  I spent a good few hours watching a number of different buskers in the city today.  It was a hot day and everyone was trying to get some shade, so Slackwire Sam must have especially been feeling the heat! A thoroughly entertaining act (you can’t tell from this photo but he’s actually on a wire!).

Seagulls continue to be one of my favourite photographic subjects, even when they are a bit scruffy like this one. It was sitting on the wall at Scarborough beach.
