I had read about the ‘Do something extraordinary’ police recruitment campaign in the Press and on the NZ Police website – so was keen to see the sketches (done by artist Otis Frizzell for the NZ police) for myself. They are quite moving. The civilians featured in the Christchurch artwork are actors but the police are real and feature Constable Nao Yoshimizu and Constable Spence Kingi who were both on duty one the day of the Feb 22 earthquake. Read the NZ Police news item online for the full story. The artworks can be seen at 817 Colombo street and 399 Montreal Street.
