Christchurch Group Hug – 1st Anniversary of the 7.1 Quake

I went along for the group hug at the Botanic Gardens today. It has been organised as a way to remember what happened one year ago today – the 7.1 earthquake which started the chain of events that has led to Christchurch being a very different city. Hundreds of people linked arms and stood in a large circle around part of the gardens as a lone piper played on the bag pipes.

Looks like a good way to remember that horrible day and at the same time look into the future.
Yes it was a nice way to remember especially as I was there with some good friends.
